The Hotel was the original wood fired power station of Knysna and has been converted into a boutique Hotel and Spa.

The Turbine opened its doors in August 2010 after three years of remodelling and restoration.

Thesen Island is a canal marina in the Knysna lagoon with restaurants, offices, shops and homes in an extremely tranquil and safe environment.

The boiler, turbines and other equipment have been restored and are an integral blend with the individual décor themes.

ACCOMMODATION AT THE TURBINE – 25 suites

All suites have individual décor and original art. There are 17 suites, 6 luxury suites, a honeymoon suite and a water club apartment.
