At the 17th annual Lonehill Residents
Association Annual General Meeting, the major steps the suburb has taken to
ensure a crime-free, family-minded community were discussed. According to John
Siddall, the chairperson of the association, Lonehill, Beverley and Pineslopes
have 429 security personnel patrolling the suburbs.

Reassuring to Know that Lonehill has a Very Low Crime Rate
John highlighted the peace of mind one has living
in or within close proximity to Lonehill which has become known as one of the
safest suburbs to live in South Africa. John asked “Where else will you see
people fishing at 6am, or walking around a park other than in Lonehill?”

Though these measures were in place, some crimes
had increased, but could be seen as minimal due to the size of the suburbs. The
past year saw a total of 18 housebreakings which is an enviable statistic.

John Siddall shared the association’s action plan
for the year-end holiday season. There will be four additional street
patrollers and armed guards at the riverfront. There will also be additional
off road motorcycle patrols.
